Convergent Collections

Symptoms

• Index search does not start on Web for new systems, although it was successfully created and filled via BG.
• Index only works on Web-Pods.
• Inconsistent data in the index between Web and BG
• On Web, records imported via Importer (BG) are not available in the index.
• In BG server processes, changes to the index made through Web are not available.
• Changes from FullIndexer are not available on Web.
• Two collections exist in Solr for the ADITO system, e.g. <My-Project>_prod and <My-Project>_prod_bg

Causes

• No dedicated collection name was specified in the Indexsearch alias for Web and BG.
• Collection name for Web and BG indexsearch does not match.

How to verify

• Check collectionName in alias configuration
• Check existing collections via Solr AdminUI

Solutions

• The same collection name must be specified in the alias configuration of the indexsearch for both Web and BG.
• After the change, the ADITO system must be restarted.
• Unused collections must be deleted via the AdminUI after the restart.

A restart of the ADITO system or the Indexsearch is required for the changes to take effect.
