Importance of Themes

A theme is a collection of color values that defines the visual appearance of the ADITO user interface. Colors influence the look and feel of the application and have a significant impact on usability and user acceptance.

If the visual design is hard to read or appears unappealing — for example, black text on a dark background — users may find it difficult to work with the system. Poor contrast or disharmonious colors can make the application feel uncomfortable and lead to frustration.

On the other hand, a well-designed theme enhances usability. Pleasant, balanced, and accessible color combinations can make the interface more intuitive and enjoyable to use. Good theming contributes directly to a positive user experience.

Within the ADITO platform, a theme is treated as an independent component. This means it can be exchanged with minimal effort and without affecting other functional parts of the system. This modular approach makes theme management both flexible and safe.

To ensure themes meet the necessary standards for screen-based work environments, certain design principles must be followed. These principles are explained in the next chapter.

Customization Options for Users

While themes cannot be enforced globally, users can select their preferred color scheme individually. This can be done in the Neon client settings under the section "Miscellaneous".
